The other week I had the opportunity to make my first ever Asian Radio Debut! It was...well...hilarious! It's English Hour every friday night here at one of our local radio stations where they invite different English speaking natives to come and discuss various topics and current events. This particular friday we were discussing my recent move to BA, where I’m from, and what I like most about living here. Let me just say it was quite the experience and one that almost got me into a heap of trouble!
As I was telling them about being from the great state of Georgia, I told them about UGA’s football team and just how great it is, how big a fan I am, and then I almost shouted GO DOGS on live public radio!!! Here in my new country there are two animals that happen to be extremely offensive to my new neighbors...dogs are one of them :o) At the very last second I very awkwardly said GO TEAM instead of dogs ;o) and the radio guy was looking at me like I was crazy! The rest of the program was just as awkwardly funny and believe it or not; they’ve actually asked me to come back! They really must be desperate!!! I am definitely not cut out for radio! Chalk it up to new experiences!!!!!

These are a few extra pictures from my part of town! The first is the main drag here in our little corner of town. I can walk to this main street if I need to pick up a few things from the market, get dinner from a street cart, or buy a new jilbob!
The middle picture is the street my house is on ;o) I think it's so beautiful! The bottom picture is actually my neighbor's store front home. A lot of people here turn their front yards into little stores where you can purchase a variety of random things! Our "store next door" I would say specializes in freshly grated coconut!!! Yummy!!! I love the simple life!
More to come soon...
